What are the advantages of online courses as compared to conventional classes/postal correspondence course?

The following are the advantages:

1. Online courses are now time tested and proven. Many universities worldwide are even offering online degrees. The trend in the developed countries shows that the future of education belongs to online education.
2. The live online classes can be easily recorded enabling the student to review the lesson much easily at a later date.
3. Live online classes can be received at home saving lot of travel time.
4. Printed course cannot be updated fast. Whereas, online course can be updated in hours.
5. The online courses are more interactive in nature and also facilitate speedy reply. To get a reply by post, it may take 8-10 days minimum, whereas in online courses it generally should take not take more that 48 hrs.
6. Use of colours is restricted in the printed material as it increases the cost of production, which is not the case for online material. Colours can be used effectively to improvise the presentation.The online course is backed by presentations/simulations/animations etc. which is not the case with printed material available in India.
7. The .pdf files are search enabled allowing one to search for certain word or group of words. This is not possible in case of printed material.
